On January 22, 2026, the Vietnam Green Mobility Transition Forum took place in Ho Chi Minh City. Policymakers, transport and technology authorities, researchers, and companies from across the electric mobility value chain came together to talk about one question that matters more each year: how Vietnam can realistically move toward cleaner, electrified urban transport.
SRE POWER was invited to join the discussion.
During the forum, representatives from SRE POWER shared practical insights from real deployments — not concepts on paper, but lessons learned from operating battery swapping systems in high-frequency urban environments. The sessions also attracted attention from local media, including Vietnam Television and VTC News.

Vietnam is already one of the world’s largest motorcycle markets. There are around 77 million motorcycles on the road, and many of them have been in service for years. Older vehicles, higher emissions, growing cities — the pressure on air quality and public health is hard to ignore.
That’s why electrification in Vietnam is no longer just a long-term vision. It’s something that needs to work now.
But on the ground, the limits of traditional charging models become clear very quickly.
Charging for 4 to 6 hours doesn’t fit vehicles that need to run all day. Fast charging helps, but it comes with higher infrastructure costs and heavier demand on the power grid. For commercial users — delivery fleets, ride services, logistics — waiting is not really an option. What they need is something closer to the fuel experience: stop briefly, get energy, keep moving.
This is where battery swapping starts to make sense.
At the forum, the SRE POWER team discussed how standardized batteries and intelligent swapping stations allow a rider to exchange a depleted battery for a full one in 1 to 3 minutes. No long queues, no extended downtime — just a quick stop and back on the road.
For high-frequency use cases, that difference is huge. Higher vehicle uptime, more predictable operations, and a system that actually fits the rhythm of urban mobility.
Of course, swapping alone isn’t the full story. Markets like Vietnam also face challenges around battery safety, inconsistent standards, upfront investment, and limited infrastructure. SRE POWER’s response has been to build an integrated vehicle–battery–station–system architecture — developed in-house and already deployed at scale across parts of Asia, Africa, and the Americas. These are not pilot projects, but operating systems with proven commercial models.
As part of the SRE POWER group in South China, Guangdong SRE works closely with global teams to bring these solutions into local market contexts. That means adapting technology, supporting deployment, and helping partners move from planning to actual operation.
Founded in 2014, SRE POWER focuses on power electronics and digital energy networks, with R&D centers in Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Xi’an, manufacturing in Dongguan and Malaysia, and localized facilities in several African markets. Today, its solutions are running in dozens of countries and supporting hundreds of industry partners.
Looking ahead, Guangdong SRE will continue working alongside headquarters and international teams, contributing practical infrastructure solutions to Southeast Asia’s electrification journey — Vietnam included — and helping cities move one step closer to cleaner, more efficient mobility.
